Description:
The souvenir round dedicated to the Moon mission was launched in 2001. The token is made of base metal alloy and plated with silver. As it has no face value the piece isn’t a coin in a true sense, but rather a souvenir round. One side of the token shows the Lunar landscape with the landed spaceship and astronauts and the name of the mission Apollo 11. There are two legends placed in circumference around the central image, they are the name of the USA as the launching country and the inscription stating the subject of the piece – First foot prints on the moon. The opposite side of the piece bears three portraits of the astronauts of the famous mission among the stars. Each face has the name of the astronaut below it. The inscription on the same side of the round repeats the well-known quote of Neil Armstrong about the giant leap for mankind.
