Description
Hello up for sals is Kereb es Sefiat 002 classified as an H3 chondrite. This gorgeous slice weighs 7.094 grams, it has a perfect mirror polish on one side with very unique dark matrix, and lots of dense chondrules containing devitrified glass are set in a fine grained matrix containing altered kamacite, chromite and troilite. History: Found in Algeria in March 2021 at 27.683°N, 7.419°W and purchased by Matthew Stream in August 2021 from an Algerian dealer.
Petrography: (A. Irving, UWS and J. Boesenberg, BrownU) Relatively small well-formed, unequilibrated chondrules (apparent diameter 460±300 µm, N = 25) containing devitrified glass are set in a fine grained matrix containing altered kamacite, chromite and troilite.
Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H3).
Specimens: 14.9 g including one polished thin section at UWB; remainder with Mr. M. Stream.
