    Description

    1834 Hard times token, L-8, HT-9. One side shows a boar running to the left. Across the side of the boar is "MY THIRD HEAT". Above the hog is "MY VICTORY", and below it is "DOWN WITH THE BANK". Around the border is "PERISH CREDIT.PERISH COMMERCE. 1834". The reverse side shows at the top a small bust of Andrew Jackson. Beginning on the bust, and written below is "MY EXPERIMENT, MY CURRENCY, MY GLORY". Around the border is written "MY SUBSTITUTE FOR THE U.S. BANK". The piece is mostly medium to dark brown, with a lighter copper color in the center area around the boar. Strong detail visible on the boar, and only light wear on the bust of Jackson.
